Samantha is a PhD candidate, artist and writer from Devon whose work explores the liminal spaces of chronic illness, motherhood, myth, the cosmos and most things in between.

Samantha was shortlisted for the Plymouth Laureate of Words in 2025 and was highly commended runner-up for the Causley International Poetry Prize. Her poetry as been published widely, including: Arc, Acumen, Belfast Review, Disabled Tales, Ink Sweat and Tears and The Polyphony. Her published fiction includes: Common Ground Review, Luna Station Quarterly, Stonecrop Review and The Lemon Review. Her essays and academic writing have been published in Mslexia, NAWE Writing in Education and Exeter University’s Exclamat!on Journal.

Her artwork began as part of the exploration of surrealist techniques such as fumage and mark making to access the unconscious or observer mind. Samples of these were published by The Polyphony alongside her prose poetry.
